The Institute on Religion and Civic Values (IRCV) is a non-profit organization working for the public good. Our work is rooted in the U.S. Constitution's first amendment, and we support freedom of conscience for people of all faiths and none. As a non-advocacy organization, we play a neutral, scholarly role in advancing knowledge about world religions and cultures in various arenas to increase understanding, mutual respect and cooperation.
We assist companies, government agencies, civic organizations, and religious institutions in the areas of history-social studies curriculum, religion in the public square, inter-religious education, and media coverage of religion news. Our 20-year track record of success combined with our academic and strategic expertise and our extensive network of partners enable us to play a valuable role in bringing our clients' research projects, resource development efforts, and training programs to fruition.
We work with the U.S. State Department and embassies, the United States Institute for Peace (USIP), leadings K-12 textbook publishers such as Houghton Mifflin and Pearson, academic bodies such as the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL) and the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS), civic organizations such as the First Freedom Center, and religious institutions such as National Council of Churches.
